Obama's "fuzzy math" moment

A simple search for "16 month plan" will return thousands of hits on Sen. Obamas plan to withdraw American forces in 16 months after his winning the Presidency. His plan has gotten increasingly more press during his trip overseas. In many reports the Iraqi government is in agreement of his proposal. All of this leads credence to his plan, but it is easy to reach to the sky when you are standing on the shoulders of giants.

"At Midnight, All The Agents..."

"Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face."

With this line, artist Alan Moore and illustrator Dave Gibbons, opens the first issue of a comic novel that would change the way people viewed comic books. Watchmen was a 12 issue series published by DC Comics in 1986. Its compelling story and graphic representation would alter the future of the genre.

Public enemy #1

I...am not a smart man. Not smart in the sense of the intricacies of things. In finance I know it is good to stay in the stock market for the long run. However I do not understand P/E ratios, derivatives, or any number of things that the professionals deal with everyday. I say this because from where I stand I see the problem with the combined housing, credit, energy crisis,...speculators.

Talk to Chuck

Well I guess we see the true power that a senator gets to handle. It seems today ole Chuck, from NY, went public with some letters to the Office of Thrift Supervision and the FDIC. His letters discussed to solvency of IndyMac bank in NY.....no in CA. It seems that the senator knows that "there aint no party like a west coast party".

Supply and BS

There are three factors that affect the price of oil in this country. Supply and demand, speculation, and the fear factor. These factor are reasonably understood if not completely stupid.

Sticking it to the Green man.

They have several names. The establishment, big business, big oil, the military-industrial complex, new world order, the man. These characters are money hungry, profit raking, stick it to the little guy megalomaniacs. Today smaller companies try to distance themselves from the big boys by using the "all natural" , "organic", and "trade free" monikers. 

Lee Greenwood...poet laureate?

There are certain things that only come once a year. At Christmas we watch A Christmas Story, on New Years we pop champagne, and on the fourth of July we hear Lee Greenwood's' God Bless the USA.
